A Rangiora company faces a new maximum fine of up to $1.5 million under the latest workplace safety law after a staff member broke bones in a fall from a mezzanine floor.

It’s a stark reminder that Health and Safety is vital for employees, customers and business productivity.

Partly as a result of the Pike River Mine disaster, the Health and Safety Reform Bill passed into law (the Health and Safety at Work Act) and entered into force in 2016.
