Celebrate the beginning of spring by visiting Cheviot in the neighboring Hurunui District on Saturday the 9th of September 2017.
Food, Flowers, Market stalls and Fun. Children friendly activities. All based at the Cheviot Area School. The festival starts at 10am with the Cheviot Area school kapa haka.
There will be market stalls at the school grounds, an amazing floral art display in the Knox Church, and the Museum will be open. The Antiques Roadshow will also be there, so bring in your antiques to get some advice. Plus do check out the beautiful Model A & Daimler cars which will be parked in the school grounds.
Then explore the village. The museum will be open or take a walk around the beautiful Cheviot Hills reserve. There are guided tours of the Cheviot Hills Reserve, one at 11am and the other at 2pm, meet at the homestead ruins in the reserve and check out the thousands of daffodils on the way. This is an excellent opportunity to support a fantastic and resilient community recovering from the Kaikoura quakes!
