Timebank Waimakariri aims to provide the opportunity for people to share skills, talents and to help build stronger and more connected communities.

You are warmly invited to join the launch and celebration of the recent Incorporated Society status, as the society establishes their Inaugural Management Committee. The Steering group will share the vision for the development of a local TimeBank, outlining the achievements so far and the upcoming pilot.  With this initiative the Waimakariri joins neighbours including the Hurunui, Selwyn and Ashburton in establishing a time bank.

What is a TimeBank?

Members share their skills and time with others and gain time credits. With those credits they can buy someone else’s time to help them. You may offer to show someone how to start a garden, someone else might create a child’s birthday cake for you. One hour = one time credit.

Event time: Thursday 13 September 7 -8pm at Rangiora Town Hall.
